Who We Are

Nutrient Miles

is a movement-based mentorship organization that helps young men of color develop discernment, emotional awareness, and consistency through running and reflection.

Founded on the belief that the body reveals what the mind avoids, Nutrient Miles uses paced movement as a regulating practice, not a performance sport. Participants learn to recognize patterns, respond instead of react, and identify what nourishes growth versus what quietly causes harm.

Running becomes the classroom. Reflection becomes the lesson. Life becomes the application.

Through cohort-based programming delivered in schools, community spaces, and mentorship settings, participants engage in guided runs, structured dialogue, and practical tools for navigating relationships, pressure, and identity.

Nutrient Miles is not about speed or endurance.

It is about learning to choose nutrient, in every mile, and every decision.

Founder

Founder of Nutrient Miles: Anthony Tucker

Growing up in East Harlem, I learned early that our youth are constantly surrounded by influences competing for their attention. Some help us grow. Others quietly pull us away from who we want to become.

Years later, as an educator, father, and runner, I came to see movement as more than exercise. Running taught me lessons about pace, discomfort, recovery, environment, and choice, lessons that extended far beyond the road.

Nutrient Miles was created to help young men develop those same skills. Not to create runners, but to help them recognize what nourishes them, reject what harms them, and move through life with greater awareness, intention, and purpose.

Philosophy

This work is about presence, not performance.

Discernment, not discipline.
